Hand-Formed Shell & Pearl Earrings
Pearl Scallop Shell Earrings
A beautiful pair of silver shell earrings, combining the rugged textures of the shoreline with the soft lustre of a freshwater pearl.
The scallop shells are formed from recycled silver using a historic die and hand-operated press. One side of the shell holds a natural freshwater pearl, while the other side is decorated with tiny handmade silver barnacles.
Each shell is individually finished and oxidised by hand, highlighting the surface detail and giving the silver the appearance of something shaped and darkened by the sea.
Finished with handmade silver ear wires.
Approximate shell dimensions: 18mm high × 15mm wide.
Freshwater pearl: approximately 4.5mm.
Created in Devon using traditional silversmithing techniques and hand tools. Natural variations in the pearl and handmade finish are part of the earrings’ individual character.
These are all made to order, I have a range of pearls to pick from, ranging from ivory, rose and peacock black.
